Anake's base port is Kalamata, situated in South Peloponnese, in the cove of the Messinian Gulf, 8 Km from the Kalamata International Airport (IATA: KLX). It is considered the ideal mooring place when passing from the Mediterranean and the Ionian Sea to the Aegean Sea.
In order to cast off, you are officially asked by the port authorities to show a sailing certificate. If you don’t hold one, skippered charter becomes a necessity. Skippered chartering, however, is often chosen from certified sailors as well. They may feel they are not experienced enough, do not know well the local waters or, simply, do want to make the cruise more relaxing. Proffesional skippers are available upon request.
RYA, ASA or ICC bareboat skipper certificates or superior, at the indicated level are all sufficient for bare boat charters in Greece. Other local certificates issued by a "yachting" authority such as sailing clubs, sailing schools, yachting/sailing associations are also acceptable as long as they are clearly stating sailing yacht competence and are in English language. The co-skipper's -little- sailing experience can be declared on a simple declaration form, signed on the spot during embarkation time.
No later than 5 days prior to your arrival make sure to send us the completed crew list along with your mobile phone number. Do not forget to provide passports and the required skipper’s license.
A security deposit has to be paid prior to embarkation, in cash.
During check-in we ensure that all equipment is in place and functioning properly. You will also receive instructions about fuses, operation of the boat, the use of heads, gas and outboard engine. Kitchen is equipped with stove, oven, fridge, sink, basic cooking utensils and cutlery. Bed linen per person (sheets, blankets, pillows) is provided. If you have unclear issues, please ask additional questions! The boat is delivered with full water and fuel tanks.
When you return the boat you will make an official check-out. If there is no damage and all the boat’s inventory is intact, the deposit amount (paid at your check-in) will be refunded. In case of damage to the boat, or missing inventory, the equivalent cost will be deducted from your security deposit. The boat must be returned with a full fuel tank.
If you choose to sail in the Messinian Gulf you will have the chance to visit many lovely small ports. Foinikounta, Gerolimenas, Oitilo, Limeni, Kardamyli are just a few to be listed. Sail, enjoy crystal blue waters for swimming, taste local delicacies, relax. If you set sail for a farther destination -given you have more days available- Kithira, Elafonisos or Crete are spectacular islands to visit. You can discuss your options during check-in, considering chartering duration, season and weather conditions.
